This degree in Environmental Studies aims to educate professionals from a global and multidisciplinary approach about environmental problems, deal with them in a coherent and balanced way with the capacity to coordinate and analyse the specialists´ work in various areas.
It provides proper education in the scientific, technical, social, economic, and legal aspects of the environment that allows the treatment and resolution of real cases and considering the social and economic environment in which they are inserted.
Technique knowledge of physicochemical, biological, and bacteriologist analysis applied to the environment.
It provides graduates the specific orientation towards the most demanded areas, such as structural and functional studies of the ecosystems, characterization, and amendment of water sources, climate change, environmental impact studies, geographic information systems, remote sensing, ecological survey techniques, simulation models, communication and environmental education.
Objectives and qualifications
- Design, implement, and manage the mitigation of damages plans, and the environmental restoration or amendment.
- Design, develop, evaluate and carry on programs of environmental impact studies and certification.
- Collaborate in the preparation of management plans for flora and fauna population.
- Analyze water quality in lentic ecosystems and determine the trophic state of the reservoirs.
- Analyze water quality in lotic ecosystems and determine the ecological and chemical state of the water surface sources.
- Diagnose, evaluate and carry out water treatments, as well as corrective and protective measures against water pollution (surface and groundwater).
